About us

Community Link Children's Charity has expanded at a rapid pace in the last 5 years of operation and our aims and objectives are being realised in terms of offering holistic services for working parent's requiring childcare in Aberdeen City.
In addition to providing quality childcare provision, we also provide support services to other childcare organisations citywide and across all sectors.
Our main area of expansion has been the Flexible Relief Pool of staff that can work in any setting and is responsive to the needs of providers. This is a well-established service and is used by Out of School Care Provisions, Nurseries, Family Centres and Crèche Providers. We also provide tailor made packages for Functions, Fun Days and Parties.
Our plans for 2007/8 include further development of this service to promote commercial services such as crèche provision for Weddings and Children's Parties. This development will bring further income to supplement the organisations social based work.
Further funding was obtained from the Big Lottery in order to employ 3 area Coordinators and they started in 2006. Area coordinators are responsible for the Line Management of Provisions, support with staff development and Quality Assurance Programmes.
These posts will work in close contact with the Neighbourhood Teams responsible for implementation of the Early Years Integration Strategy, as well as providing further support to CLiCC services within the Neighbourhoods.
The childcare services that we provide make a major contribution to the development of the local economy and also address social inclusion as a priority aim.
Lack of available, quality childcare is often the most significant barrier for parent's returning to work or further education and we look forward to developing our services in the future.
CLiCC are also involved in an exciting project at Victoria Road School which should see fully integrated childcare services for children 2-14years.
THIS PROJECT WAS REALISED IN 2007.
Last year the organisation was going through a period of consolidation as expansion slowed. There was a focus on developing systems to ensure Quality, Monitoring and Evaluation of the work done to date. We have made considerable progress in this area and 2007 should see the organisation continue to expand whilst retaining the level of quality that our staff takes great pride in maintaining.
